At QUT we understand that helping your son or daughter as they make their choice and settle into university is much easier if you have access to all the information you need. To help you navigate the QUT website, we have created a parents' site with links to key information.

QUT holds parent information evenings each year. For more information please browse our event listings.

You can also subscribe to our electronic newsletter, QUT News for Parents, which includes the latest information about courses, facilities and scholarships. Subscribe online.

QUT's Parents brochure (PDF, 355KB) provides information about career outcomes, scholarships, study costs and student support, as well as answers to some common questions we receive from parents. Print versions of the brochure are available by phoning 07 3138 8501 or emailing parents@qut.edu.au

If you have any questions which are not answered on this website or through our newsletters, please feel free to email us on parents@qut.edu.au - QUT's dedicated email service for parents.

If your son or daughter is interested in getting a head start on their uni degree you may want to consider START QUT . This is an opportunity for high-achieving students undertaking the Queensland Certificate of Education, NSW High School Certificate, International Baccalaureate and/or Accelerated Christian Education (or equivalent) programs to experience university and extend their studies in year 12.

Students study one or two university subjects in the same classes as current QUT students and are awarded a scholarship to cover the cost of their tuition fees. The program also allows students who pass two units (4 or above, 7 being the highest) to gain admission to selected QUT courses and start studies in Semester 1, following completion of Year 12.
