The Student Recruitment and Promotions Team

The Student Recruitment and Promotions team delivers a wide range of marketing and promotional services to support QUT's domestic student recruitment goals. All staff work across the client-focused program of publishing (both print and web), event management and outreach to organisations, schools, TAFEs and community settings All staff have with a hands-on role in many activities and have specific coordinating responsibilities as indicated below.

Lexie is the primary point of contact for high school guidance officers including booking, organising staff, transport and marketing communication materials required for school visits and campus tours undertaken by all staff in the unit.

She plays the key role of coordinating and liaising with personnel from QUT faculties and other sections and departments in regard to QUT course promotion and recruitment activities including on-campus events and visits, off-site visits to schools and community events.

Amelia plays an important role in providing high-quality outreach to schools and the general community. Through participation in school visits, campus tours, regional markets and recruitment events, Amelia provides course and admission information to a broad range of prospective students and their influencers. The position aims to develop excellent relationships with guidance officers and teachers.

Amelia is also responsible for the promotion of QUT’s scholarship program, including the administration of the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships (for high achieving commencing students) and START QUT (the university-wide accelerated learning program for Year 12 students).

Vanessa leads the undergraduate school liaison and outreach activities on behalf of the University-wide community.
Vanessa supervises the Student Ambassador program, organises the Tertiary Studies Expo (TSXPO), and is the QUT contact for regional career markets and showcases, START QUT and alternative entry.

Sarah has a key focus on producing successful campus events on behalf of the University such as Course and Careers Day, Information Day for Guidance Officers and Real Decisions.

Sarah also has a key focus on the dissemination of information to parents and guardians of prospective undergraduate students and runs a series of parents' seminars in Brisbane. She is also the editor of QUT News for Parents. In 2008, Sarah will also be introducing a Year 10 University experience program.

Yvonne plays an important role in writing, editing, sub-editing and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate course publications across nine University Faculties.

She is also the editor of QUT News, an online newsletter providing up-to-the-minute course and admission information as well as being the writer/editor of the University-wide central publications; Real Choices, Real Options, Quick guide to QUT for younger students, and the four-page guide for regional and interstate students.

Leanne heads QUT's domestic student recruitment team, located within the Marketing and Communication Department.

At the strategic level Leanne contributes to the development of integrated corporate marketing plans for QUT. Operationally, she oversees a client-focused program of publishing; print and web, event management, and outreach to organisations, schools, TAFEs and community settings.
