Training datesTraining is offered throughout the year. Staff will be alerted by email of upcoming sessions. Training for small groups can be arranged to suit participants. Call Janne Rayner on (07) 3138 2361 or email j2.rayner@qut.edu.au. She will contact you to discuss your needs and finalise the dates for your training. Individuals as well as groups are welcome to attend training. Most workshops and seminars are conducted at Gardens Point campus, but training can take place at the Kelvin Grove and Carseldine campuses provided there is sufficient interest. While there is no charge for you to attend any or all of these sessions, a $55 cancellation fee will be charged to your school/faculty account if you fail to attend a session for which you have booked. Dealing with the media QUT has few restrictions on its staff liaising with the media and actively encourages its teaching and research staff - as well as its postgraduate researchers - to share their expertise with media on matters of community interest. (The formal policy is detailed in QUT's Manual of Policies and Procedures - MOPP Chapter F.) The Vice-Chancellor remains the principal spokesperson for QUT on matters of policy or corporate issues and will delegate this responsibility where appropriate. However, full-time and part-time academics and postgraduate researchers are free to talk directly to media on matters within their area of qualification and expertise. They may choose to contact the media or respond to incoming requests. Media representatives are permitted access to all campuses (campus parking staff appreciate prior advice as early as possible). Marketing and Communication receives regular requests from journalists seeking expert comment, and the media unit tries to respond to all requests as quickly as possible. |
